Our Puppy Process
Bringing home a new puppy is such an exciting season, and we are honored to be part of your journey. At Arizona Aussies, we want every puppy transition to feel as smooth, supported, and stress-free as possible for both our puppies and their future families.
From the application process to go-home day and beyond, we are here to help guide you every step of the way.
HOW TO RESERVE A PUPPY
How Our Process Works
Step 2 — Complete Your Contract & Deposit Agreement
Once approved, we will send over our Puppy Contract and Deposit Agreement through DocuSign for review and signature.
Step 3 — Submit Your Deposit
Deposits are required to reserve your spot on our waitlist and secure early puppy selection before puppies are opened to the public.

• Deposits are non-refundable
• Deposits may be transferred to another litter if needed

Step 4 — Puppy Selection
If puppies are currently available, you may be able to select your puppy right away. For upcoming litters, families on our waitlist will be contacted in order once puppies are born.
Throughout the process, we provide updates, photos, videos, and support as your future puppy grows.
GO-HOME DAY
Preparing for Go-Home Day
You’ve waited patiently, planned, and prepared for your newest family member — and now the exciting part finally arrives.
At 8 weeks old, puppies are ready to head home with their new families. However, just like a newborn baby, puppies are still vulnerable during this stage and require extra care and protection while their immune systems continue developing.
We strongly recommend avoiding high-traffic public areas until your puppy has completed all recommended vaccinations around 16 weeks of age to help reduce the risk of illnesses such as Parvovirus.
Our goal is to help set both puppies and families up for a successful transition from our home to yours.
NUTRITION & RAW FEEDING
Nutrition & Supplementation
We start our puppies on a high-protein puppy kibble before gradually introducing fresh and all-natural raw feeding options.
The idea behind raw feeding is inspired by the natural diets of wild canines and focuses on fresh, minimally processed foods. Many owners choose raw feeding because of the potential benefits it may support, including digestion, skin and coat health, energy levels, and overall wellness.
While every family’s lifestyle is different, we encourage owners to research nutrition options and choose what works best for their puppy and home.
TRAINING & SOCIALIZATION
Early Training Foundations
Australian Shepherds are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and eager-to-please dogs. Early training, consistency, and socialization are extremely important in helping them grow into confident and well-balanced companions.
Before puppies leave our home, we begin introducing:
• ENS & ESI foundations
• Daily handling & socialization
• Early potty foundations
• Started kennel training
• Household sounds & routines
We encourage families to continue consistent structure, socialization, and positive reinforcement training after bringing their puppy home.
GO-HOME GIFTS
Your Go-Home Bag
We try our best to send every puppy home with items that help make the transition easier and more comforting for both the puppy and their new family.
Go-home bags may include:

• Vaccination & deworming records
• Puppy paperwork & information
• Food transition information
• Helpful resources & recommendations
